Vermont Gage was formed in 1980. They are the premier fixed limit gage manufacturing company in the United States. All plain, non-threaded plug and ring gages are manufactured at the facility located in Swanton, VT. This plant also serves as the company’s headquarters. Vermont thread gages are manufactured at the Franklin, KY plant.

Black Guard Pin Set
CL-ZZ Pin gage sets are available in Black Guard finish. The Black Guard black oxide treatment typically penetrates .000040″ -.000060″ deep which provides a visual wear indicator as the substrate becomes visible. Black Guard also helps prevent rust & corrosion providing longer gage life. Pin gage sets are also available in regular steel.
Custom Plug Gages
Custom plain plug gages are made to your diameter specifications in both Inch or Metric sizes. Styles available are Reversible, Taperlock, & Trilock in CL-XX, CL-X, CL-Y, CL-Z, & CL-ZZ tolerances. Available gage materials are steel, chrome & carbide. Black Guard is available on select CL-Z & CL-ZZ plugs.
Thread Gages
Thread work plugs & ring gages are used to ensure assembly of mating parts. All gages are made to prevalent Federal Standards and can be furnished with traceable certs. Chrome finish is standard on all straight stock work plug gages. Acme, Buttress & other custom gages are also available. NPT, NPTF, NPSF & NPSM pipe thread gages are also available from stock.
Class X Plug Gages
Inch in stock Standard CL-X plug gages are used as masters to calibrate other instruments or to gage parts directly. Size range is .004″ – 1.000″ in .0001″ increments. Either plus tol. GO or minus tol. NO GO plugs are available from stock. Cert of accuracy is included. Gages may be supplied as members only or as GO, NOGO assemblies with handles.
